Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of duties aimed at preventing unauthorized access, responding to incidents, conducting routine patrols, and ensuring compliance with all security protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, to detect and deter security breaches, unauthorized activities, or suspicious behavior.
- Monitor surveillance equipment (CCTV) and alarm systems, promptly responding to and reporting any anomalies or incidents.
- Control access points, verify credentials, and manage visitor logs to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
- Respond effectively and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, following established procedures.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, educating staff and visitors on guidelines when necessary.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services during critical incidents, providing necessary information and support.
- Perform routine checks of security equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any malfunctions.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for all employees, visitors, and contractors by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security operations or a related field (minimum 12 months).
- Excellent observational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities for clear reporting.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective under pressure.
- Proficiency in using basic security equipment (e.g., CCTV, access control systems).
- Basic computer literacy for report generation and system monitoring.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Solid knowledge of standard security procedures and protocols.
- Valid security guard license or certification (if applicable in Nigeria/Kwara State).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a corporate security environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and laws in Nigeria.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant security training or certifications are a strong plus.
