Key Responsibilities

  • Review mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required documentation is submitted.
  • Verify borrower information, including credit, income, assets, and liabilities.
  • Order and review third-party reports such as appraisals, title searches, and flood certifications.
  • Communicate proactively with loan officers, borrowers, and third-party vendors to obtain missing or clarifying information.
  • Prepare loan files for underwriting, ensuring all conditions are met and compliant with regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage and prioritize a pipeline of mortgage applications to meet closing deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical loan files.
  • Stay current with all federal and state mortgage lending regulations and company policies.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the processing stage.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Processor, Mortgage Processing Clerk, or similar role (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending procedures, regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, TRID), and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in loan origination software (LOS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal education or certification in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific German mortgage market regulations.
