Career.zycto is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Research & Development to lead our innovation initiatives in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe. This pivotal role demands a strategic leader capable of driving product innovation, technological advancement, and scientific discovery across our portfolio. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives and market demands.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of R&D professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and research to prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, materials, and processes to enhance existing products and develop new offerings.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure projects are delivered on scope, on time, and within budget.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and market adoption.
- Establish and maintain strong intellectual property protections for new innovations.
- Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, collaborate with academic institutions, and stay abreast of competitive landscapes and technological advancements.
- Prepare and present regular reports on R&D progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in R&D leadership roles, preferably in a relevant industry.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing innovative products or technologies from concept to market.
- Strong understanding of scientific principles, engineering methodologies, and product development processes.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse technical team.
