Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform daily financial data entry, ensuring meticulous record-keeping across all ledgers.
  • Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
  • Organize and maintain financial documents, both physical and digital, for easy retrieval and auditing.
  • Support the Senior Accountant in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation of basic financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and German accounting regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and clients regarding payment inquiries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeping Assistant or in a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., DATEV, QuickBooks, SAP Business One).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in German and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Bookkeeper (e.g., IHK certification in Germany).
  • Familiarity with German tax laws and financial reporting standards (HGB).
  • Experience with digital document management systems.
