Career.zycto is seeking a highly professional and vigilant Security Officer to join our client’s team, ensuring the safety and security of a dynamic mall and corporate office environment in Manchester. This pivotal role requires an individual with exceptional observational skills, a proactive approach to security challenges, and a commitment to maintaining a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and employees. As a Security Officer, you will be the frontline presence, responsible for deterring criminal activity, responding swiftly to incidents, and providing crucial support in emergency situations across varied settings.
Your day will involve a blend of regular patrols within the bustling retail areas of the mall, ensuring public order, and conducting security checks in the more structured office spaces. You will play a key role in monitoring surveillance systems, managing access control, and diligently documenting any irregularities or incidents. This position demands a keen eye for detail, the ability to act calmly and decisively under pressure, and a strong sense of responsibility. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols across mall retail areas and corporate office premises to ensure safety and security.
- Monitor CCTV systems for suspicious activity and promptly respond to alarms or security breaches.
- Manage access control points, verifying credentials and ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
- Respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security threats, following established protocols.
- Complete comprehensive incident reports, daily log entries, and other required documentation with accuracy and detail.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, staff, and tenants with inquiries and directions.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, to maintain a safe environment.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed during significant incidents.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) License (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding minimum)
- Proven experience in a security role, preferably within retail, commercial, or corporate environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and effectively manage challenging situations
- Basic IT proficiency for report writing and surveillance monitoring
- Physical fitness to perform duties including extensive walking and standing
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid at Work certification
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and alarm systems
