Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence at designated entry points and throughout the venue to deter undesirable conduct.
- Monitor guest behavior, identifying and addressing potential conflicts or issues proactively.
- Verify identification for age restrictions and enforce capacity limits.
- Conduct security checks, including bag searches, as per venue policy.
- De-escalate arguments, disruptive behavior, or physical altercations using verbal skills and, when necessary, appropriate physical intervention.
- Escort uncooperative or intoxicated individuals from the premises respectfully and safely.
- Respond to emergency situations, including medical incidents, fires, or security breaches, following established protocols.
- Collaborate with management, police, and emergency services during critical incidents.
- Provide assistance and directions to patrons as required, offering a friendly yet authoritative presence.
- Complete incident reports accurately and promptly for all security-related events.
- Adhere strictly to all venue policies, local laws, and security regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in security, club protection, or a similar role.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Physical fitness and capability to stand for extended periods, walk patrols, and perform necessary interventions.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- Understanding of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to security and public safety.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid security guard license or certification (e.g., SIA, PSV, or equivalent local certification).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working in high-volume entertainment venues or nightclubs.
- Proficiency in multiple local languages (e.g., Swahili).
