Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently set up and tear down catering equipment, tables, chairs, and decorative displays for various events.
- Safely transport food, beverages, supplies, and equipment to and from event locations.
- Assist chefs and servers with basic food preparation, plating, and serving duties as directed.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization for all catering areas, equipment, and storage facilities.
- Accurately load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Strictly adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with the entire catering team to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction.
- Responsibly handle, store, and track inventory, reporting any shortages or damages.
- Perform minor routine maintenance on catering equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Provide proactive support during events, anticipating needs and assisting guests to ensure a positive experience.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg) frequently and for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent teamwork and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
- Eagerness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing event requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (e.g., 6 months or more) in catering, hospitality, warehousing, or a similar physically demanding role.
- Knowledge of food safety practices; a valid Food Handler's Certificate is an asset.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (an asset for potential transport duties).
