Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, bricklayers, plumbers, electricians) with various tasks on site.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment, transporting them to designated areas.
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including waste removal and site tidiness.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary barriers, and other site structures as required.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies diligently.
  • Report any hazards or incidents immediately to site management.
  • Support logistics by moving materials between different areas of the site.
  • Perform general labouring duties as directed by site supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Strong physical fitness and stamina, capable of manual labour.
  • Willingness to learn and take instructions from supervisors.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety (e.g., wearing PPE).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-solving attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • Previous experience working on a construction site.
  • Knowledge of basic construction terminology and practices.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • First aid certification.
