Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures (e.g., X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound) in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
- Ensure accurate patient positioning and apply appropriate imaging techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Safeguard patient welfare by adhering strictly to radiation safety regulations and protocols.
- Explain procedures clearly and empathetically to patients, addressing concerns and ensuring their comfort throughout the imaging process.
- Maintain and operate complex imaging equipment, performing routine quality checks and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, referring physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Accurately record patient information, imaging data, and procedure details in the electronic health record system.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the training and mentorship of junior staff or students as required.
- Keep abreast of advancements in radiography technology and techniques through continuous professional development.
Required Skills
- Hold a valid degree or diploma in Radiography (BSc Radiography or equivalent).
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience operating a variety of diagnostic imaging modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI).
- Thorough understanding of radiation protection and safety guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
