Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly strategic and visionary Director of Research & Development to lead our innovation initiatives in Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe. This critical leadership role will be at the forefront of defining and executing our technological roadmap, fostering a culture of continuous discovery and product excellence within our human resources technology domain. Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the strategic R&D roadmap, aligning with Career.zycto’s overall business objectives and market vision.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a diverse team of R&D professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the entire product innovation lifecycle, from ideation and conceptualization to prototyping, testing, and successful deployment.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines efficiently to ensure project delivery within scope and financial parameters.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies and research findings to enhance existing products and create new offerings.
- Champion intellectual property development, patent filings, and the protection of proprietary technologies.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure seamless product integration and market fit.
- Establish and maintain R&D best practices, quality assurance standards, and agile development methodologies.
- Represent Career.zycto as a thought leader in relevant industry forums, conferences, and academic partnerships.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership experience (10+ years) in R&D or Product Development, preferably in HR Tech or SaaS.
- Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities with a track record of delivering innovative products.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and scale technical teams.
- Expertise in product innovation lifecycle management, from concept to commercialization.
- Proficiency in agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Advanced budget management and resource allocation proficiency.
- Deep understanding of intellectual property rights and patent processes.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data-driven decision making and experimentation.

- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
