Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, ensuring all access points are secured and monitoring for suspicious activities.
  • Operate and monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and other security equipment, responding promptly to alerts.
  • Implement and enforce access control procedures for visitors, employees, and vehicles.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and security breaches, following established protocols.
  • Assist in the investigation of security incidents, gathering evidence and supporting data.
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter unauthorized activities and ensure a sense of security.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary during incidents.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to enhance security skills and knowledge.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff and visitors while maintaining security protocols.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a security-related role or similar field (minimum 1 year)
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
  • Ability to operate CCTV and alarm monitoring systems
  • Proficiency in writing clear and concise reports
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional security certifications are a plus
  • Previous experience in a corporate or industrial security environment
  • Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols in Abia State, Nigeria
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience with various security technologies and software
  • Valid driver's license (Class C or equivalent)
