Key Responsibilities
- Assist students and teachers with basic computer usage, software applications, and internet navigation.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of computer hardware (monitors, keyboards, mice, printers).
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues such as printer jams, network connectivity problems, and software errors.
- Ensure the computer lab is organized, clean, and ready for use at all times.
- Monitor student activity in the lab to ensure adherence to school policies and acceptable use guidelines.
- Provide basic technical support during classes and workshops held in the computer lab.
- Assist with the installation and updates of educational software under supervision.
- Maintain an inventory of computer lab equipment and report any damages or malfunctions.
- Support teachers in preparing computer-based lessons and activities.
- Promote a positive and safe learning environment within the computer lab.
Required Skills
- Basic proficiency with Windows or MacOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience and a strong desire to assist students and staff.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting (volunteer or paid).
- Some coursework or certification in IT support or computer science.
- Familiarity with network basics and internet safety protocols.
- Ability to communicate in Portuguese (official language of Mozambique) is a plus.
