Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the complete setup, calibration, and dismantling of audio equipment for studio recording sessions, live events, and broadcast productions.
  • Conduct thorough sound checks and continuously monitor and adjust audio levels to ensure optimal quality and clarity throughout recording or live performances.
  • Diagnose and promptly resolve technical issues with microphones, mixing consoles, amplifiers, speakers, and other audio gear.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and inventory management of all sound equipment, ensuring readiness for immediate use.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, artists, directors, and other technical staff to understand project requirements and achieve desired auditory outcomes.
  • Ensure optimal acoustic conditions within studio spaces by advising on sound treatment, microphone placement, and signal flow optimization.
  • Implement industry best practices for audio signal routing, recording techniques, and digital audio workstation (DAW) operation.
  • Assist with post-production audio tasks including editing, mixing, and mastering as required.
  • Stay informed on emerging audio technologies, software updates, and industry trends to recommend improvements and maintain competitive technical edge.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with professional audio software (DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, microphone techniques, audio signal flow, and sound theory.
  • Demonstrated experience with the operation of both digital and analog mixing consoles.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex audio hardware and software issues efficiently.
  • Exceptional ear for sound quality, detail, and balance, with a critical listening approach.
  • In-depth knowledge of various audio formats, codecs, and digital audio standards.
  • Familiarity with studio cabling, patching, routing systems, and sound reinforcement principles.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or relevant certification in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Broadcast Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience with live sound reinforcement for concerts, conferences, or public events.
  • Basic knowledge of video production workflows and audio-visual synchronization.
  • Familiarity with broadcasting equipment and adherence to industry broadcast standards.
  • A comprehensive portfolio showcasing previous sound engineering, studio setup, or live sound projects.
