Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Mailroom Sorting Assistant to join our vibrant team in Queensborough, New Westminster. In this essential full-time role, you will be the backbone of our mail and package handling operations, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing correspondence and parcels are processed efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries to appropriate departments or individuals with high accuracy.
  • Process outgoing mail, including weighing, franking, and preparing items for dispatch according to specific carrier requirements and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and courier services for tracking purposes.
  • Operate and perform basic maintenance on mailroom equipment such as franking machines, scanners, and sorting machinery.
  • Ensure the mailroom area is kept consistently clean, organized, and compliant with all company safety standards and procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management of mailroom supplies, proactively identifying needs and initiating reorders as necessary.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential documents with the utmost discretion, maintaining strict security protocols at all times.
  • Provide reliable support for inter-office deliveries and pick-ups as needed to facilitate internal communication and logistics.
  • Collaborate effectively and professionally with team members and other departments to ensure seamless operational workflows.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding mail handling, security, and data privacy.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and record-keeping.
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
  • Basic literacy and numerical skills for reading addresses and counting items.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a mailroom, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or similar sorting environment.
  • Familiarity with standard mailroom equipment and general mail handling procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with scanning software or simple data entry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
