As a Restaurant Storekeeper, you will be the cornerstone of our culinary operations, directly impacting our ability to deliver outstanding dining experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all inventory operations for the restaurant, including receiving, storing, and issuing food, beverages, and supplies.
- Verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, and condition.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Implement and maintain an organized storage system (FIFO – First-In, First-Out) to minimize waste and spoilage.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply, placing timely orders to prevent shortages while avoiding overstocking.
- Ensure all storage areas (dry storage, refrigerators, freezers) are kept clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise effectively with kitchen management, chefs, and suppliers regarding stock needs, delivery schedules, and quality issues.
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, consumption rates, and potential discrepancies for management review.
- Control access to storage areas and maintain security protocols to prevent loss or theft.
- Assist in negotiating with suppliers for better pricing and terms where applicable.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an acute attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Hospitality Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Familiarity with various types of kitchen equipment and ingredients.
- Experience with perishable goods management.
