Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Estate Facility Technician to join our dynamic team in Ikeja, Lagos. In this pivotal full-time role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal functioning, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our managed properties. This position demands a proactive individual with a strong understanding of various building systems, capable of performing both routine maintenance and urgent repairs. You will be the frontline support, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general structural components of our estates operate flawlessly, contributing significantly to resident satisfaction and property value. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems, to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and infrastructure to extend asset lifespan and minimize breakdowns.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls from tenants or property management, troubleshooting and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Execute repairs and replacements of faulty equipment, fixtures, and structural elements using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Oversee and coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects, ensuring work is completed to specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies, fostering a safe working environment.
  • Manage and maintain common areas, grounds, and external facilities to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts, including after-hours calls, to address critical facility issues.
  • Provide clear and concise communication to property management and tenants regarding maintenance schedules and issue resolution.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related trade.
  • Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry.
  • Proficiency in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity for performing repairs and lifting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant technical certification or vocational training in facility management, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
  • Prior experience working in an estate, residential, or commercial property management setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to facility operations.
  • Valid Nigerian driver’s license and ability to commute between properties if required.
