Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-line support for cloud infrastructure incidents and service requests.
  • Monitor cloud platform performance, availability, and security using relevant tools.
  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources (VMs, storage, networking, databases).
  • Perform routine system maintenance, patching, and upgrades across cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for cloud data.
  • Contribute to the documentation of cloud infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless application deployment and stability.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required to support critical infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a cloud support or infrastructure role (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls).
  • Proficiency with Linux and/or Windows Server operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and practices for cloud environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Administrator Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and service management frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
