Job Description

Are you a seasoned logistics professional with a passion for optimizing fleet operations and leading a high-performing team? Siginon Group is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Supervisor specializing in Fleet Control to join our dynamic logistics team in Nairobi. This pivotal role is central to ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods across our extensive network. As a Transport Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day management of our diverse fleet, optimizing routes, managing driver performance, and ensuring strict adherence to all transport regulations and company policies. You will be expected to leverage your expertise to enhance operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and contribute significantly to our commitment to delivering seamless logistics solutions to our clients. This is an on-site position based in Nairobi’s vibrant logistics hub, offering an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on our transport operations and grow within a reputable organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily scheduling, dispatch, and routing of company vehicles and drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery/collection of goods.
  • Monitor fleet movements, driver performance, and adherence to planned routes using GPS tracking and other fleet management systems.
  • Implement and enforce fleet safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department for regular vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime and ensure fleet readiness.
  • Manage driver shifts, conduct performance appraisals, provide training, and address disciplinary issues as required.
  • Optimize fuel consumption and operational costs through effective route planning and driver behavior management.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed transport records, reports on fleet performance, fuel consumption, maintenance, and driver metrics.
  • Investigate and report all fleet-related incidents, accidents, and breakdowns, implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure all necessary permits, licenses, and vehicle documentation are current and compliant.
  • Foster a positive and productive working environment for the transport team, encouraging teamwork and professional development.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in transport supervision, with a strong focus on fleet control.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Kenyan transport regulations and road safety standards.
  • Proficiency in using Fleet Management Systems (FMS) and GPS tracking software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driving license (Class BCE or higher) with a clean driving record.
  • Computer literacy, especially with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in Logistics, Transport Management (e.g., CILT).
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems related to logistics modules.
  • Proven track record in cost reduction initiatives within fleet operations.
  • First Aid and defensive driving certification.
