Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Matabeleland South Province, Zimbabwe. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a holistic L&D strategy aligned with organizational goals and future workforce needs.
  • Design, implement, and manage a wide range of learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, compliance, and onboarding.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify critical skill gaps and areas for development across all departments.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of L&D initiatives using relevant metrics and feedback, ensuring demonstrable ROI.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and external vendor relationships efficiently and effectively.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, digital adoption, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and HR business partners to integrate L&D programs into broader talent management and succession planning strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in learning and development to ensure our programs remain cutting-edge.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership experience in Learning & Development strategy, design, and execution.
  • Expertise in instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and diverse training methodologies (e.g., blended learning, e-learning, experiential learning).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously from conception to completion.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HRIS/LMS platforms and modern learning technologies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions, measure program effectiveness, and demonstrate impact.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities coupled with a results-oriented and proactive approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in L&D (e.g., CPLP, ATD, SHRM-CP/SCP with an L&D focus).
