Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy-duty trucks safely and efficiently on assigned routes.
  • Ensure timely, secure delivery of goods per schedules and client requirements.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including fluid levels, tires, and lights.
  • Report all vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage promptly to dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and fuel consumption reports.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Assist in loading and unloading cargo; ensure proper and secure load fastening.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members regarding transport status.
  • Uphold Career.zycto's professional standards and brand image at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class BCE/CE driving license with a clean record.
  • Minimum 3 years proven heavy-duty truck driving experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Kenyan road safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Excellent driving record with no major violations.
  • Ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness and stamina for demanding schedules and manual tasks.
  • Familiarity with Nairobi's road networks and surrounding regions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Logistics or Transport Management.
  • Defensive driving certification.
  • Experience with GPS navigation and logistics software.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • First Aid certification.
