Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and strategic Procurement Executive – Contract & Purchase to join our dynamic team, supporting a key client based in Streetly, Birmingham. This pivotal role is perfect for a meticulous and results-oriented professional eager to take ownership of end-to-end procurement processes, from identifying supplier needs to contract finalisation and ongoing vendor management. You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of indirect and direct spend categories, negotiating favorable terms, and mitigating risks. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for various categories of goods and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, assess capabilities, and benchmark pricing.
  • Lead the entire tender process, including RFQ/RFP development, evaluation, and supplier selection.
  • Negotiate complex contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to achieve optimal cost savings and value.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance adherence, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Monitor and analyse spend data to identify opportunities for consolidation and cost reduction.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, external regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to finalise and execute robust contractual agreements.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, savings, and market trends to senior management.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in cost reduction and value creation.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with international sourcing and supplier management.
  • Knowledge of specific industry regulations relevant to our client's sector (e.g., manufacturing, retail, services).
  • Project management skills.
