Are you a skilled and proactive Estate Facility Technician looking for a challenging role in a dynamic environment? Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated individual to join our growing team in Ajah, Lagos. As an Estate Facility Technician, you will be the backbone of our property operations, ensuring all facilities within our managed estates are in optimal condition. This role requires a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Your primary focus will be on the routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of building systems, common areas, and infrastructure across various residential and commercial properties. You will work independently and as part of a team, responding to service requests, conducting preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting issues promptly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of estate facilities, identifying maintenance needs and potential hazards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, generators, and other building infrastructure.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and property management, diagnosing issues and performing necessary repairs.
  • Carry out minor carpentry, painting, masonry, and general handyman tasks as required.
  • Monitor and maintain water supply systems, drainage, and waste management facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance activities.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects when necessary, overseeing their work to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of utility rooms, workshops, and common areas.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or contract workers if applicable.
  • Participate in emergency response and on-call duties as scheduled.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Facility Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge in electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to commute within Ajah and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade certification or vocational training in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC).
  • Experience with facility management software or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to facility management in Nigeria.
  • Previous experience working within a residential estate or commercial property management setting.
