Key Responsibilities
- Consult clients to understand their travel preferences, budget, and specific requirements for both leisure and business trips.
- Research, plan, and create custom travel itineraries for domestic and international destinations, ensuring optimal routes and experiences.
- Book flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises, tours, and other travel components using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and various online booking platforms.
- Provide expert advice on destinations, travel restrictions, visa requirements, insurance options, and cultural nuances to enhance client journeys.
- Process payments, issue tickets, vouchers, and handle all necessary travel documentation with meticulous accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage cancellations, changes, and rebookings efficiently, resolving any unforeseen issues or disruptions promptly and professionally.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel industry trends, new destinations, supplier promotions, and technological advancements.
- Build and maintain strong, lasting client relationships, fostering trust and encouraging repeat business and valuable referrals.
- Achieve individual and team sales targets and contribute to the overall growth and success of the travel consultancy department.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Travel Consultant or in a similar booking/trip planning role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong proficiency in Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo for flight and hotel bookings.
- In-depth knowledge of international travel regulations, airline ticketing, visa processes, and IATA fare rules.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-centric approach.
- Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple bookings simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and thrive as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for administrative tasks and client correspondence.
- Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication with a diverse clientele.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- IATA (International Air Transport Association) certification.
- Experience with CRM software for efficient client management and follow-up.
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., German, Mandarin, Hindi) are considered a significant advantage.
