As a Shop Attendant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall store success. This includes diligently managing inventory, ensuring shelves are always well-stocked and visually appealing, and accurately processing sales using our Point of Sale (POS) system. You will also be instrumental in promoting current sales, special offers, and new product launches, effectively communicating their benefits to customers. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized store environment is paramount, and your attention to detail will ensure a pleasant shopping experience for everyone. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products.
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash/card payments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and display areas.
- Restock shelves, manage inventory, and assist with stock deliveries.
- Promote current sales, special offers, and new products.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints efficiently and courteously.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including opening and closing duties.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sales targets and operational goals.
- Assist with merchandising and product placement to maximize sales potential.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a retail sales or customer service role (minimum 6 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with POS systems.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Fluent in English and French (Mauritian Creole is a plus).
