Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth check-in process.
  • Manage reservations, check guest availability, and assist with booking modifications or cancellations efficiently.
  • Handle guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally, providing accurate information about hotel services, local attractions, and directions.
  • Process payments, manage cash and credit card transactions, and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems, direct calls, and take messages with courtesy and clarity.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues with empathy and problem-solving skills, escalating complex matters to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments, including housekeeping, concierge, and restaurant staff, to ensure a cohesive guest experience.
  • Perform night audit duties as required, reconciling daily transactions and preparing reports.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies, safety procedures, and security standards to ensure guest and staff well-being.
  • Provide wake-up calls and coordinate transportation services for guests.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding all guest information.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in hospitality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) or similar reservation systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a calm approach under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Familiarity with local attractions and amenities in Lagos.
  • Ability to speak additional local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa).
  • Previous experience as a Night Auditor.
