Key Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and process biological specimens (e.g., blood, urine, tissue) with meticulous attention to detail and proper identification.
- Prepare samples for analysis using standard laboratory procedures, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and slide preparation.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment under supervision, ensuring daily checks and calibration are performed accurately.
- Assist Medical Technologists and Scientists with performing various laboratory tests and analyses.
- Maintain accurate records of all specimens, tests, and results, adhering to strict data entry and documentation protocols.
- Perform routine inventory checks and assist with restocking laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Ensure the laboratory work area is clean, organised, and maintained according to safety and quality control standards.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, CAP).
- Dispose of biohazardous waste safely and according to established procedures.
