As a Remote Sustainability Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data related to our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. Your work will directly inform strategic decisions, help us meet regulatory compliance, and support our communication efforts to internal and external stakeholders. You will contribute to the development of sustainability reports, assist in identifying areas for improvement in our operational footprint, and help us track progress towards ambitious sustainability targets.

This role demands a blend of strong analytical skills, an understanding of sustainability frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD), and excellent communication abilities. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, including operations, finance, supply chain, and investor relations, ensuring a holistic approach to our sustainability agenda. While this position is remote, candidates should ideally reside in the United States and be available to collaborate effectively across different time zones when necessary. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and manage sustainability data from various internal and external sources.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of ESG performance metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of annual sustainability reports, disclosures, and presentations in alignment with recognized frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Monitor global sustainability regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
  • Assist in the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, supply chain, environmental services) to gather data and implement sustainability programs.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and research related to carbon footprint analysis, circular economy, biodiversity, and social impact.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in data analysis, reporting, and project management, preferably within a sustainability context.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas) and data visualization tools.
  • Solid understanding of global sustainability reporting standards and frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., LEED AP, CES, ESG Analyst).
  • Experience with sustainability software platforms or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with forest products industry or natural resources management.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., R, Python) for data analysis.
