Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with relevant German and EU environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS), particularly in line with ISO 14001 standards.
- Conduct regular environmental audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Monitor key environmental performance indicators (e.g., waste generation, emissions, water consumption, energy usage) and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive environmental reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Provide expert advice and training to staff on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Investigate environmental incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaise effectively with environmental authorities, external auditors, and other relevant third parties.
- Support the development and implementation of corporate sustainability strategies and initiatives, including circular economy principles.
- Manage environmental projects from conception to completion, ensuring objectives are met within scope and budget.
Required Skills
- Profound knowledge of German and EU environmental legislation (e.g., KrWG, BImSchG, WHG).
- Proven experience in developing and managing Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).
