Job Description

This role is for a dynamic and personable Reception Host to join a thriving hospitality venue in the picturesque Lenzie area of Glasgow. As the first point of contact for guests, you will be instrumental in creating a positive and lasting impression. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival, manage check-ins and check-outs efficiently, and assist with luggage as needed.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries with professionalism and provide accurate information about services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications using our booking system, ensuring accuracy and availability.
  • Process payments, maintain accurate billing records, and handle cash and card transactions responsibly.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex matters to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area, ensuring all necessary supplies and information are readily available.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, restaurant, concierge) to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Provide local recommendations and directions, enhancing the guest's stay.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as sorting mail, preparing reports, and managing office supplies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within the hospitality or service industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a polite and professional telephone manner.
  • Proficiency in using reservation software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • A friendly, approachable, and proactive personality with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy periods.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Receptionist or Host in a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and amenities in the Glasgow area.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Certification in customer service or hospitality management.
