Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Event Sales Manager to join our growing team in Kado, Abuja. This pivotal role is perfect for an individual with a proven track record in sales, a passion for the events industry, and an exceptional ability to forge strong client relationships. As our Event Sales Manager, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new event opportunities, as well as nurturing existing client accounts. Your primary focus will be on selling event spaces, services, and comprehensive packages for a wide range of corporate conferences, workshops, social gatherings, and private events, ensuring unparalleled client satisfaction from initial inquiry through to successful post-event follow-up. This position demands a strategic thinker who can not only meet but consistently exceed ambitious sales targets through proactive outreach, compelling presentations, and expert negotiation of contracts. You will be responsible for meticulously understanding current market trends, analyzing competitor activities, and deeply appreciating client needs to develop and present tailored event solutions that clearly differentiate our offerings in the competitive Abuja market. A significant and engaging part of your role will involve crafting detailed proposals and intricate contracts, while also collaborating closely and synergistically with our dedicated event planning and operations teams to guarantee the seamless and flawless execution of every booked event. You will be expected to actively maintain a robust and healthy sales pipeline, manage client accounts efficiently and meticulously using cutting-edge CRM tools, and provide regular, insightful reports on your sales performance, accurate forecasts, and critical market intelligence to senior management. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed event revenue targets for various event types.
  • Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, market research, and lead generation activities.
  • Manage and nurture a portfolio of existing client relationships, fostering loyalty and securing repeat business.
  • Prepare compelling and customized proposals, presentations, and contracts that effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Expertly negotiate terms and close sales agreements, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential growth areas within the Abuja event landscape.
  • Collaborate closely with event planning, marketing, and operations teams to ensure smooth communication and flawless execution of all booked events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status using our CRM software.
  • Represent Career.zycto at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Provide regular and insightful reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market intelligence to senior management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in event sales, hospitality sales, or a related B2B sales role.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong ability to build rapport and establish lasting client relationships.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and possess a strong drive for results.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strategic thinking with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience working specifically within the Abuja events or hospitality market.
  • Familiarity with event management software (e.g., EventBrite, Cvent).
  • Fluency in additional local languages relevant to the Nigerian business environment.
