Key Responsibilities

  • Assist PR Managers in the planning, execution, and monitoring of national and regional public relations campaigns.
  • Conduct daily media monitoring across traditional (print, broadcast) and digital channels, identifying relevant news, competitor activities, and industry trends.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit various communication materials, including press releases, media alerts, Q&As, briefing documents, and internal communications.
  • Support media relations activities by preparing comprehensive press kits, coordinating media inquiries, and maintaining accurate journalist databases.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Legal, Product Development, Corporate Affairs) to gather necessary information and ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
  • Perform in-depth research on industry trends, competitor strategies, and potential media opportunities to inform campaign development.
  • Prepare comprehensive coverage reports and contribute to the analysis and evaluation of campaign effectiveness and ROI.
  • Manage and organise PR assets, including high-resolution images, video content, brand guidelines, and communication templates.
  • Assist in the organisation and smooth execution of virtual and, on occasion, in-person events, press conferences, and media briefings.
  • Support social media content creation and community management efforts for PR-related initiatives and announcements.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
  • Strong organisational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough research and summarising complex information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate seamlessly within a remote team environment.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and their strategic role in public relations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated proactive attitude, self-motivation, and a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet strict deadlines in a dynamic setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related field.
  • Previous internship or work experience (e.g., 6-12 months) in a PR, marketing, or communications role.
  • A foundational understanding of the UK media landscape and the financial services industry.
  • Experience with media monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Cision, Gorkana, Meltwater).
  • Basic knowledge of SEO principles and familiarity with content management systems.
