Key Responsibilities
- Process, organize, and maintain electronic and physical medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of all patient health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Retrieve and deliver medical records as requested by authorized personnel, ensuring timely access for patient care and administrative needs.
- Perform data entry, scanning, and indexing of patient information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Review medical records for completeness, accuracy, and proper consent documentation.
- Assist with the release of information (ROI) requests, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and other departments to resolve discrepancies or gather necessary information.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and regulatory changes in medical record management.
- Maintain an organized and efficient remote workspace, demonstrating strong time management and self-motivation.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or a similar clerical role.
