Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and developing new menus, recipes, and daily specials.
- Oversee and manage kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring seamless service and consistent food quality.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure all food preparation and cooking procedures adhere to established recipes, portion controls, and quality standards.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and assist with ordering supplies to minimize waste and control costs.
- Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety (HACCP principles) throughout the kitchen.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on ingredients, prepared dishes, and cooking equipment.
- Manage staff scheduling, breaks, and ensure adequate staffing levels for all shifts.
- Handle kitchen administrative duties, including record-keeping and reporting.
- Actively participate in the preparation and plating of dishes during service.
- Troubleshoot kitchen issues and resolve challenges efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or highly skilled Chef de Partie in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a strong foundation in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
