Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Research & Development to lead our innovation initiatives from our Zvishavane office. This pivotal role requires a strategic leader who can drive the entire R&D lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to product development and market integration. You will be instrumental in shaping our technological roadmap, fostering a culture of scientific inquiry, and ensuring our offerings remain at the forefront of the industry. As Director of R&D, you will be responsible for defining the strategic direction of our research pipeline, aligning it with the company’s overarching business objectives and market needs. Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company’s R&D strategy, aligning it with business goals and market trends.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of R&D professionals.
- Oversee the entire R&D project lifecycle, from ideation and research to prototyping and transfer to production.
- Manage the R&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance product capabilities.
- Establish and maintain strong intellectual property (IP) protection strategies for new developments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, marketing, and sales teams.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform R&D initiatives.
- Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and with strategic partners.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control and compliance standards within R&D processes.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science).
- Minimum of 13 years of progressive experience in Research & Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex R&D projects from concept to commercialization.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
- Expertise in intellectual property management and patenting processes.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
