Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead technicians with vehicle maintenance and repair tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Prepare and organize tools, equipment, and parts for specific jobs, ensuring the workshop is always ready for service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping floors, emptying trash, and cleaning workbenches.
- Perform basic diagnostic checks under supervision.
- Transport vehicles within the shop premises safely and efficiently.
- Handle and dispose of waste materials (e.g., used oil, tires) according to environmental regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Learn new skills and techniques from experienced mechanics and participate in ongoing training programs.
- Assist with customer vehicle drop-off and pick-up procedures as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and components
- Familiarity with common hand and power tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to work
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an auto shop or a similar mechanical environment (even personal projects count)
- Enrollment in or completion of an an automotive vocational program
- Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection procedures
- ASE student certification is a plus
