Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Medical Transcriptionist to join our dedicated team in Singapore. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing dictated medical reports, patient histories, discharge summaries, operative notes, and other healthcare documents from audio recordings into written format. Your precision and understanding of medical terminology will be vital in ensuring the integrity and clarity of patient records, directly supporting healthcare professionals and contributing to optimal patient care outcomes. This position requires exceptional listening skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality while adhering to stringent quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe medical dictations accurately and efficiently, including patient charts, clinical notes, reports, and summaries.
  • Review and edit transcribed reports for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clarity.
  • Verify patient information and ensure correct formatting of documents according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA/PDPA regulations.
  • Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and pharmaceutical knowledge to ensure accurate transcriptions.
  • Manage assigned workload to meet daily turnaround time requirements and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any discrepancies or issues encountered.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or in a related medical documentation role.
  • Exceptional command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, and disease processes.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to accurately interpret varied dictation styles and accents.
  • Proficiency in using transcription software and word processing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word).
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification from a recognized Medical Transcription program (e.g., AHDI).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with various medical specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, general practice).
  • Ability to type at a minimum of 60 WPM with high accuracy.
