Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.) for local and regional deliveries.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, utilizing navigation tools as required.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure and damage-free transportation.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Verify cargo against delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, handling queries professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.
- Assist with general warehouse duties or vehicle cleaning as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or higher for Jamaica).
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Strong knowledge of local geography and road networks in St. Elizabeth and surrounding parishes.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) safely.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking oil, tire pressure).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a range of delivery vehicles (e.g., panel vans, box trucks).
- Familiarity with inventory management or logistics software.
