Job Description

This role is more than just driving; it’s about being the face of our company on the road, ensuring critical goods reach their destination reliably and efficiently. As a Driver – Logistics & Delivery with Career.zycto, you will be entrusted with one of our modern company vehicles, becoming an integral part of our dynamic logistics network in Junction, St. Elizabeth, and the wider region. You’ll be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of various goods, playing a pivotal role in our commitment to exceptional customer service and operational excellence. Your day will involve meticulously planning delivery routes, loading and unloading cargo with care, and conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.) for local and regional deliveries.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, utilizing navigation tools as required.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring secure and damage-free transportation.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
  • Verify cargo against delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, handling queries professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties or vehicle cleaning as needed.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or higher for Jamaica).
  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Strong knowledge of local geography and road networks in St. Elizabeth and surrounding parishes.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) safely.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking oil, tire pressure).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a range of delivery vehicles (e.g., panel vans, box trucks).
  • Familiarity with inventory management or logistics software.
  • First Aid and defensive driving certifications.
  • Customer service experience in a delivery or transport setting.
