Career.zycto is seeking a professional, reliable, and experienced Company Driver to join our dedicated team in Eleme, Port Harcourt. This is a critical role that ensures the safe and timely transportation of company personnel, clients, and materials, directly supporting our operational efficiency and reputation. As a Company Driver, you will be entrusted with one of our company vehicles, playing a vital part in the daily flow of our business. Your duties will extend beyond merely driving; you will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle’s cleanliness and performing routine checks to ensure it is always in optimal working condition. Understanding and adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations is paramount, as is maintaining a clean driving record.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport company staff, clients, and materials to designated locations within Eleme, Port Harcourt, and surrounding areas.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the company vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the company vehicle, both interior and exterior.
  • Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance in a logbook.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials or luggage as required, ensuring their safe transit.
  • Plan optimal routes to avoid traffic and ensure timely arrival at destinations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and discretion when interacting with passengers.
  • Be available for occasional extended hours or weekend shifts as operational needs demand.
  • Ensure all vehicle documentation (e.g., insurance, registration) is valid and up-to-date.

Required Skills

  • Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class E or G)
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience (commercial or company driving)
  • Thorough knowledge of Port Harcourt road networks and traffic regulations
  • Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic offenses
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
  • Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO)
  • Defensive driving certification or equivalent training
  • Experience driving a variety of vehicle types (e.g., SUVs, vans)
