Career.zycto is actively seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Learning & Development to spearhead our talent enhancement strategies based in Gwanda, Matabeleland South Province. This pivotal senior leadership role is perfectly suited for an individual with a robust and proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating highly impactful learning programs that consistently drive organizational performance and cultivate a vibrant culture of continuous growth and development. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive, future-oriented learning and development strategy meticulously aligned with Career.zycto's overarching organizational goals and anticipated future workforce needs.
  • Lead the entire process of design, innovative development, and seamless delivery of diverse training programs across a multitude of modalities including e-learning, blended learning, interactive workshops, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Conduct thorough and data-driven needs assessments to accurately identify critical skill gaps and key performance improvement areas across all departments and employee levels.
  • Strategically manage the L&D budget, ensuring the most cost-effective allocation of resources and consistently maximizing the return on investment for all learning initiatives.
  • Rigorously evaluate the effectiveness and measurable impact of all learning programs utilizing relevant key performance indicators and robust feedback mechanisms; continuously refine and optimize programs based on analytical results.
  • Actively research, pilot, and seamlessly integrate new learning technologies, innovative tools, and cutting-edge methodologies to significantly enhance the learning experience and expand reach.
  • Oversee and strategically manage all vendor relationships pertaining to external training programs, content development, and learning platforms.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and professionally develop a high-performing L&D team, fostering a vibrant culture of continuous excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate extensively and effectively with senior leadership and departmental heads to ensure all L&D initiatives directly support and advance strategic business objectives.
  • Proactively establish, champion, and embed a pervasive culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and intellectual curiosity throughout the entire organization.
  • Ensure all L&D activities and programs consistently comply with relevant industry standards, best practices, and all applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 9 years of progressive professional experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 years specifically in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Demonstrated expertise and deep understanding of instructional design principles, curriculum development methodologies, and advanced adult learning theories.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to successfully manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously from conception to completion.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and various e-learning authoring tools.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, compelling presentation, and superior interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with all levels of an organization, from front-line employees to executive leadership.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities coupled with a data-driven, analytical approach to program evaluation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) or L&D (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
  • Prior experience working within a fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environment.
  • Familiarity with contemporary talent management software and sophisticated performance appraisal systems.
  • Extensive experience in leading significant change management and broader organizational development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multinational or culturally diverse organizational environment.
