Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight manually or using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks) onto and from trucks, trailers, and conveyor systems.
- Sort and stage freight according to destination, product type, or other specified criteria.
- Inspect freight for damage and accurately record any discrepancies or issues.
- Operate scanning equipment to track inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational targets.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including inventory counts and facility maintenance.
- Secure freight properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items repeatedly (up to 25 kg) and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and counting freight.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and completing documentation.
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
