Key Responsibilities
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems, handling cash, credit/debit card, and mobile payments.
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting customers warmly, and assisting with inquiries or directing them to appropriate staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area at all times.
- Ensure accurate change is given and items are properly bagged for customers.
- Resolve minor customer complaints or issues professionally, escalating complex situations to management when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all store policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention and security.
- Assist with basic stocking, pricing, and merchandising tasks during downtimes to ensure product availability and tidy displays.
Required Skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in cash handling and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculating change and verifying totals.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting (up to 10kg) occasionally.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Edo, Yoruba) is a plus.
