Key Responsibilities

- Interview sources, eyewitnesses, and experts to obtain accurate, comprehensive, and balanced information.
- Write, edit, and produce compelling news scripts, articles, and digital content for broadcast and online platforms.
- Collaborate closely with camera operators, editors, producers, and other team members to ensure high-quality visual and audio content.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the community to generate exclusive leads and foster trust.
- Monitor news feeds, social media, and other sources for breaking news, emerging trends, and potential story opportunities.
- Uphold the highest journalistic ethics and standards, including accuracy, fairness, impartiality, and privacy.
- Participate actively in editorial meetings, contributing to story planning, content strategy, and innovative storytelling approaches.
- Utilize social media and digital tools effectively to engage with the audience, disseminate news, and drive online discussions.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French; Mauritian Creole is a significant advantage.
- Proven ability to research, investigate, and present complex information clearly, concisely, and engagingly.
- Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills to build rapport, extract crucial information, and handle sensitive topics.
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment.

- Valid Mauritian driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the district and potentially nationwide for assignments.
