Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle for daily logistics and delivery routes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and local transportation regulations.
- Verify accuracy of delivery manifests, load and unload packages, and secure cargo properly.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally and courteously to customers and the public.
- Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as sorting and organizing packages as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class B or equivalent for light commercial vehicles in Jamaica).
- Clean driving record for at least the past 3 years.
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas' road networks.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High level of reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software.
- Familiarity with inventory management procedures.
