Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of clothing alterations, including hemming, tapering, resizing, and restyling garments.
- Execute various clothing repairs such as patching, darning, zipper replacement, and seam repair on diverse fabrics.
- Take accurate measurements for clients and advise on the best alteration solutions to achieve desired fit and style.
- Operate and maintain professional sewing machines, overlockers, and other tailoring equipment.
- Inspect finished garments to ensure high quality standards are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Manage customer expectations, provide clear communication regarding repair timelines and costs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Order and manage tailoring supplies and materials as needed.
- Assist with basic garment design or customisations as requested by clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a tailor or clothing repair specialist (minimum 3 years).
- Proficiency in operating industrial and domestic sewing machines.
- Excellent knowledge of various fabrics, garment construction, and tailoring techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for quality craftsmanship.
