Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities, games, and creative play.
- Support children with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices.
- Observe and monitor children’s behavior, reporting any concerns or achievements to parents or guardians and senior staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding their child's daily activities and progress.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and adhere to all health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive and supportive childcare setting.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to supervise and care for children of various ages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of basic child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Fluency in English and Yoruba.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of O’Level certificate; a diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is a plus.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in a childcare setting (e.g., daycare, preschool, home care).
- Experience working with children with diverse needs.
- Proficiency in creative arts, music, or storytelling for children.
