Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities, games, and creative play.
  • Support children with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices.
  • Observe and monitor children’s behavior, reporting any concerns or achievements to parents or guardians and senior staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding their child's daily activities and progress.
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and adhere to all health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive and supportive childcare setting.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to supervise and care for children of various ages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of basic child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
  • Fluency in English and Yoruba.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of O’Level certificate; a diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in a childcare setting (e.g., daycare, preschool, home care).
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs.
  • Proficiency in creative arts, music, or storytelling for children.
