Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as conversation, reading, and light exercise.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, tidying living areas, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings, ensuring safe transportation.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
- Monitor and report any changes in client health, behavior, or well-being to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy client environment by following safety protocols and procedures.
- Document care provided accurately and timely, adhering to care plans and company policies.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in caregiving or a related field
- Valid Alaska Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light housekeeping duties
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or specific medical conditions
- Knowledge of basic meal preparation and nutritional guidelines
- Proficiency in using care management software or mobile applications
