Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as conversation, reading, and light exercise.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, tidying living areas, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings, ensuring safe transportation.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client health, behavior, or well-being to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy client environment by following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Document care provided accurately and timely, adhering to care plans and company policies.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in caregiving or a related field
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light housekeeping duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working with individuals with dementia or specific medical conditions
  • Knowledge of basic meal preparation and nutritional guidelines
  • Proficiency in using care management software or mobile applications
