Key Responsibilities
- Perform underwater inspections, maintenance, and repair of structures (e.g., bridges, dams, pipelines).
- Operate and maintain specialized diving equipment and tools, including hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
- Execute subsea construction tasks, including cutting, welding, rigging, and concrete placement.
- Conduct salvage and recovery operations for submerged objects or vessels.
- Assist with underwater demolition and debris removal projects.
- Adhere strictly to all international and national safety protocols and regulations (e.g., ADCI, IMCA, DGUV).
- Maintain clear and effective communication with surface support, team members, and project managers.
- Prepare detailed reports, logs, and documentation of underwater activities and findings.
- Participate actively in pre-dive planning, risk assessments, and post-dive debriefings.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials underwater, if applicable.
Required Skills
- ADCI, IMCA Commercial Diver certification, or equivalent national (e.g., German DGUV) commercial diving certification.
- Minimum 3 years (36 months) of verifiable commercial diving experience in industrial or construction settings.
- Proficiency in underwater welding, cutting (oxy-arc), and rigging techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot diving and underwater equipment.
- Excellent physical fitness, demonstrated by the ability to pass regular comprehensive medical examinations for divers.
- Valid driver's license (Class B equivalent in Germany).
- Fluent in English and German (spoken and written) for clear communication and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a vital member of a team in demanding conditions.
- Solid understanding of dive physics, decompression theory, and emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific non-destructive testing (NDT) methods underwater (e.g., UT, MPI, Eddy Current).
- Underwater photography and videography skills for inspection and documentation purposes.
- HAZMAT diving certification or experience with contaminated water diving operations.
- Tender/Supervisor experience or advanced dive leadership qualifications.
- Advanced first aid, CPR, and oxygen administration certification.
- Experience with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) or other subsea robotics.
- Formal training in confined space diving.
