Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports to meet diverse business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to gather and understand their data analysis and reporting needs.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data models, reports, and dashboards.
- Develop and optimize DAX calculations and Power Query M formulas for complex data transformations and aggregations.
- Perform data modeling, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within Power BI datasets.
- Implement best practices for data visualization and dashboard design to enhance user experience and data understanding.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of existing Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring timely data refreshes and efficient query execution.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on Power BI tools and reports, fostering a data-driven culture.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed dashboards, reports, and underlying data models.
- Stay current with the latest Power BI features, updates, and industry trends to recommend and implement continuous improvements.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI dashboard and report development.
- Expert proficiency with Power BI Desktop, including DAX, Power Query (M Language), and advanced visualization techniques.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, relational databases, and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Proven ability to design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient data models in Power BI.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics).
- Familiarity with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) is a plus.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
- Previous experience in the financial services or tax industry.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.
