Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate surface and underground surveys for mining and civil projects.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of surveying instruments including total stations, GNSS receivers, and laser scanners.
  • Process, analyze, and interpret survey data to generate plans, maps, cross-sections, and 3D models.
  • Conduct volumetric calculations for stockpiles, excavations, and cut-and-fill operations.
  • Monitor ground movement, stability, and structural integrity of mining infrastructure and geological formations.
  • Establish and maintain survey control networks, ensuring high levels of precision and accuracy.
  • Collaborate effectively with geologists, engineers, project managers, and operational teams.
  • Prepare detailed survey reports and maintain comprehensive survey records.
  • Ensure all surveying activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new surveying technologies and methodologies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on surveying matters to project personnel.
  • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments related to surveying operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Mine Surveyor or in a similar geospatial role.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Surpac, MicroMine, QGIS/ArcGIS).
  • Expertise in operating and calibrating total stations, GNSS/GPS systems, and laser scanners.
  • Strong understanding of geodetic principles, mapping, and coordinate systems.
  • Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and visualization skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid German driver's license (Class B).
  • Fluency in English and professional working proficiency in German.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or licensure as a surveyor (e.g., Öffentlich bestellter Vermessungsingenieur).
  • Experience with drone-based photogrammetry and LiDAR data processing.
  • Knowledge of German mining law and regulations (Bundesberggesetz).
  • Experience in civil construction or quarrying environments.
  • Familiarity with geological modeling software.
