Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Energy Auditing Support Technician to join our growing team in Sherbrooke, Quebec. As an Energy Auditing Support Technician, you will be responsible for a wide array of tasks that directly impact the success of our energy audits. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior energy auditors in conducting on-site energy assessments of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Operate and calibrate specialized diagnostic equipment, including thermal imagers, data loggers, airflow meters, and combustion analyzers.
  • Collect and organize utility bill data, building schematics, and operational schedules for analysis.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis to identify energy waste and potential efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare clear and concise documentation, including technical reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Support the development of energy models and calculations for various building systems.
  • Research and stay current with energy efficiency technologies, building codes, and incentive programs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot auditing equipment, ensuring proper functionality and calibration.
  • Provide technical support and collaborate effectively with clients and internal project teams.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards during field visits.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or certification in Energy Management, Building Technology, HVAC, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in energy auditing support, building operations, or a related technical role.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report generation using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Basic understanding of building science principles, HVAC systems, lighting, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency measurement tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French (asset).
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) is an asset.
  • Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., eQUEST, HAP, Trane TRACE).
  • Knowledge of Quebec's building codes and energy efficiency programs.
  • Previous experience working with diverse client portfolios.
